Transport Planner

My client is a fast-growing, award-winning Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy with offices in Fareham, Oxford, and Cambridge. They are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for Transport Planners to join the team due to growth, to support a wide variety of projects in an expanding team.
Role Specific Requirements
1. Lead and manage small to medium sized projects, including budget and time management, delegating where appropriate with input from senior colleagues.
2. Write and occasionally check Transport Assessments/Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals, etc.
3. Good understanding of modelling packages and methodologies to calculate trip distributions.
4. Ability to complete/review planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs, etc.
5. Undertake site visits independently and provide professional opinions accordingly, particularly to inform scheme development at early stages of projects.
6. Attendance at project team, client, and Local Highway Authority meetings.
7. Help prepare material for and attend Public Consultations.
8. Development of good personal and company working relationships with architects, planners, and local highways officers.
9. Complete proposals for small to medium projects and input into larger sites where required.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Degree level qualification or equivalent.
2. At least 2 years Transport Planning experience, ideally exploring membership at a professional organisation.
3. Working knowledge of relevant design guidance and awareness of relevant local planning policies.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to respond efficiently to demands at a high standard.
5. Ability to prioritise workload, work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
6. Experience of working with computer-based systems including Microsoft programmes.
7. Experience using AutoCAD, TRICs, and modelling software.
