Wyre is a borough that shows the best of Lancashire. We are located on the coast, with Preston, Blackpool and the Lake District nearby, and home to picturesque towns including Fleetwood, Garstang, Poulton-le-Fylde and Thornton-Cleveleys, as well as many beautiful rural villages. Wyre welcomed over 4.4 million visitors in 2023 - and it is easy to see why. The borough boasts a rich heritage with historic high streets and bustling markets, mouth-watering local food and quality accommodation and a calendar filled with brilliant events. On one side you'll find stunning award-winning beaches with unspoilt coastlines, and on the other unforgettable landscapes in the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Wyre Council at a time when building safety is at the forefront of legislative change and authorities are structuring their services to deliver maximum community reassurance. To join our highly professional and successful Building Control section, you will be a qualified, experienced Building Inspector or have the surveying/construction experience and qualifications necessary. You should also be a good communicator with a forward-thinking enthusiastic attitude, highly motivated, innovative and customer-oriented.
In return, we can offer you a salary up to £41,511 plus £5,000 market supplement, 24 days annual leave rising to 29 days subject to length of service (pro rata), great work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, employer pension contribution, free onsite parking, discounted gym membership, access to occupational health and wellbeing services, extensive training and development opportunities, and a supportive workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.
