Job Overview
As an Asset Data Specialist at Southern Water, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving asset data quality across our systems. You’ll ensure compliance with data governance standards, drive best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data integrity and reporting
Responsibilities will include:
The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate collection, validation and maintenance of asset data in systems and report on accuracy and completeness of that data.
1. Extracting, transformation and loading of asset data from/to enterprise asset management system and GIS.
2. Assessing asset data to identify data quality issues and facilitate interactions between asset data governance specialists and data owners to remedy any issues.
3. Maintaining asset data change management processes and monitor the effectiveness of Data Governance processes and adjusting these to remedy any issues.
4. Maintaining asset data catalogue and glossary.
5. Data cleansing, processing and verification on any new or updated asset data.
6. Contributing to development and implementation of asset data governance frameworks, guidance documents, and business rules to improve data quality.
7. Supporting the business in adapting to new forms of asset and system data, providing training and guidance on asset management systems.
8. Delivering insightful reporting on asset data accuracy and completeness, identifying trends, and supporting business decision-making.
About You
You are a data-driven professional with a sharp eye for improving efficiency and ensuring seamless data governance. Skilled in business process mapping, statistical analysis, and data quality assessment, you deliver clear, insightful reporting to drive informed decision-making.
Proficient in data analytics technologies eg Alteryx, and coding and querying languages eg R, SQL, and Python, you extract and analyse complex datasets, ensuring compliance with data governance best practices. Skilled in statistical analysis, data quality and confidence measurements.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
