Leading Hand - Despatch and Yard operations

* Rotating Shift Pattern (40 hrs per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Carlisle sawmill. Working to support our supervisory and management team ensuring customer orders are despatched safely and efficiently and overseeing the smooth running of the stockyard and despatch team.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor procedures for the movement and transfer of materials to the correct locations in the given timelines across the stackyard.
* Carry out quality checks on the materials that are to be moved and deal with any quality concerns and damage.
* Uphold rigorous Health & Safety standards, ensuring employees are working safely in a clean and hazard-free environment and enforcing the correct use of PPE and company policies and procedures.
* Operation of a side loader and other mobile plant vehicles.
About you:
We’re seeking attentive and quality-focused individuals, who have a high appreciation for Health and Safety standards. In addition, you’ll have:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
* An appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
* Proactive in identifying areas of improvement.
* Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
* Experience within a manufacturing or similar production environment.
* Full driving license.
Experience within a similar environment would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
