Job summary This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, hardworking General Practitioner to join our friendly and experienced Team for a one-year fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover, commencing in January 2025. We have a vacancy for 8 sessions per week. However, job sharing may be considered. You must be a Registered GP with the GMC. We offer a frailty service to our 900 care home residents, which is a GP-led session each morning for acute matters whilst our Team of experienced ANPs provides weekly rounds to each home. We have an in-house Mental Health and Social Prescribing Team. We have a dedicated Team who deliver our bespoke service for homeless people in Worthing and the surrounding area. Our Clinical Pharmacists manage Medicines Management, including EPS, medication reconciliation and Controlled Drugs reviews. A large multidisciplinary Chronic Disease Team supports patients to manage their long-term conditions. Main duties of the job Clinical duties comprise a weekly mixture of the following: Access Team - Dealing with matters on the day which patients have contacted us about. There is a Team Leader each day, supported by the Reception Team to manage resources safely and effectively on the day. They are joined by three other Clinicians to help with telephone consultations and to see any patients when clinically appropriate. Continuity Clinic - A session once a week in which to book your own follow-ups and complete all your personal admin. Admin GP - This is an all-day role which entails reviewing blood test results for anyone who is away or where they are not owned, any prescribing issues, referral queries, fit notes etc. The aim of the role is to ensure that there is a central place to sweep admin issues so that your personal admin is only ever your own. Frailty GP - This is a morning session, actioning the calls and visit requests we receive from our Care Homes on the day. We cover over 40 Care Homes, hence the need to have a specific role for this group of patients. Docman GP - This is a half-day session managing the incoming clinical documentation for the Practice.
