Head of People - Highly Successful Technology Services Company - Herts - to £65k + bonus & great benefits
Our client is a vibrant and successful IT and Technology Services company with a passion for creating a positive workplace culture and making a real difference in the lives of their employees. They have a growing presence across the south of England and ambitious plans for further expansion, and are currently looking for an experienced Head of People to lead their HR function in Hertfordshire.
Reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will work with the Senior Management Team to shape the growth and structure of the organisation, energise the employee experience, champion company culture, and generally enable and promote the behaviours which are critical to the company’s continued success.
This is a full time, permanent role, with flexitime other excellent benefits, and would suit a confident passionate self-motivated HR leader, happy to role their sleeves up and make a difference in an innovative and hard-working team.
The role:
* Work with the Senior Management Team to help shape the organisation, reviewing and developing the people strategy, brand, culture, internal communications, and HR infrastructure, to drive high performance across the business.
* Apply knowledge and expertise in specialist HR areas, providing innovative ideas and solutions.
* Develop and administer HR policies, procedures and guidelines as required, and promote consistency and fairness in their application.
* Maintain and develop HR information systems and explore new technologies where appropriate.
* Provide the organisation with generalist HR advice and guidance and deliver the full employee lifecycle including guiding line managers through a variety of situations.
* Oversee annual and other employee processes to assess and update staff pay and benefits, ensuring good performance is valued and any adjustments are implemented fairly.
* Encourage and strengthen a culture and practice of forward HR planning and ensure innovative recruitment and succession planning is in place.
* Advocate for good practices that promote the development and wellbeing of all staff, including contributions to further safety and work/life balance.
* Drive staff engagement and involvement, lead on staff surveys and ensure feedback is used to generate reflection, learning and improvement.
* Champion and advance diversity within the organisation.
Skills and experience required:
* A minimum of 3 years’ relevant HR experience, working across all functions, including recruitment, training, L&D and driving culture change throughout a business.
* Ability to think and plan creatively at strategic and operational levels, and confident in balancing a strategic outlook with a hands-on, “sleeves rolled up” approach.
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people at all levels, with the confidence and credibility to influence upwards.
* A passionate, self-motivated and progressive leader who fosters innovation, inclusivity, and positive culture through continuous improvement, adaptability, and prioritising team empowerment and well-being.
* Experience of working in a standalone HR position ideally in an SME (50 – 500) is desirable.
* Experience in M&A both pre and post-acquisition would be advantageous.
* An in interest in AI for HR planning.
