Job summary – What to expect:
As the Assistant Business Controller, you will support the Business Controller, UK&I, and GKA and be accountable for the accuracy of commercial financial statements and related entries across Accounting, AR, AP, payroll, tax, and treasury functions delivered by the UK Shared Service Centre. This is a highly visible and hands-on role that requires strong commercial understanding and business acumen.
In addition, you will:
1. Work with the Business Controller on the preparation of Budget and Quarterly Forecasts, presenting the financial performance and outlook for the market, with explanations of customer, channel, product and market drivers.
2. Work on the revenue forecasting cycle, driving weekly flash, monthly, and quarterly planning rounds in association with the Markets & Sales Operations teams, using analytics and processes to gain an improved understanding of all revenue / gross margin-related aspects of the business.
3. Support the Business Controller in the design, testing and implementation of the Oracle system in the UK&I market.
4. Responsibility for ensuring appropriate risk management and control frameworks are in place.
5. Lead the market through planned strategic projects, including ERP transformation and finance transformation projects, including leading local implementation of change management plans.
6. Will be expected to lead projects or business support areas a regional level, as required
7. Ensure continued compliance with internal controls.
8. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Country results in US GAAP.
9. Ensure accurate cash flow monitoring & forecasting.
10. Recommend strategies to improve the overall P&L, and leading implementation of any projects agreed by market leadership team.
11. Support special projects that support management decision-making.
12. Communicating Financial results and ensuring the Corporate & Regional Finance teams understand the key cost drivers, developing insights that can drive optimal decision making and enhanced value.
13. Drive consistent reports and analysis of the financial results to support both the timely and accurate monthly close process and functional management reviews.
14. Participate in special projects that support and drive management decision-making.
15. Assist with Internal Audits.

Experience & Education:
16. Excellence in planning, implementing and co-managing projects through multiple stakeholders.
17. Strong presence, comfortable working with business leaders to build a case and recommend actions
18. Ability to provide and communicate effectively high-quality advice supporting preparation of business cases/deals.
19. Direct, hands-on experience in creating, tracking and controlling actual, forecasts and budget metrics, and with an unrelenting curiosity to identify opportunities to benefit the business.
20. Proven ability to analyze actual vs. plan results and summarize underlying drivers of variances as well as providing clear and succinct interpretation of results to management.
21. Qualified Accountant, or equivalent business Finance qualification
