Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse - EADU - Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse in the EADU department. We are looking for a dynamic and pro-active person to help co-ordinate the unit in order to maintain flow through the Emergency footprint. The post holder will need to be well organised and effective in their practice, they must be able to multi-task and actively contribute towards a developing department.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
1. Promoting best practice for patients attending EADU experiencing acute medical illness.
2. Promoting an enabling, empowering and equitable culture, thereby ensuring services provided are of a high quality.
3. To actively participate in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the EADU.
4. Ensure evidence-based care is provided to agreed standards within the department and this is demonstrated in the delivery and achievement of all clinical and operational key performance indicators.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of the local and national nursing strategy.
6. Maintain effective records management ensuring all documentation written or electronic is managed as per Trust and NMC guidance.
7. Ensure risk management policies and procedures are understood and in place within the ward/department.
8. Ensure near misses, incidents, accidents and medical device faults are recorded, reported, investigated and processes are in place for learning to be shared.
9. Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients/clients and visitors by ensuring compliance with policies.
10. Ensure staff awareness of environmental issues and take appropriate action as per Trust policy.
11. Ensure safe and effective use of equipment.
