We are offering the chance to gain a degree level qualification in Geoscience whilst working for a leading Site Investigation Company where you will gain hands on experience whilst you study. You will work alongside our team investigating and profiling ground conditions. Supported by our extensive and knowledgeable team of Engineering Geologists.

Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm when working in the office. Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 4.00pm when working in the laboratory or onsite. You may be required to work additional hours in excess of your normal hours of work.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Assist with all tasks associated with site investigations
* Describe soil and rock to British Standard
* Assist in the preparation of site investigation reports
* Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety documention
* Assist in the supervision of site work.
* Assist with testing soil and rock in the laboratory

* Apply geoscientific theories, paradigms, concepts and principles.
* Conduct and supervise fieldwork, geoscience mapping and laboratory investigations as appropriate and in accordance with safe working practices and legal requirements.
* Apply appropriate numerical, statistical, geostatistical and qualitative techniques in the evaluation of data and information.
* Utilise digital technologies, instrumentation and remote sensing for the collection, analysis and modelling of data.

Your training plan
Geoscientist (integrated degree) Apprenticeship Standard:
* Training is to be provided by Keele University both at Keele and remotely
* Training at Keele is to be delivered in week blocks
More training information
* You will join the Geotechnics Graduate Engineer Training Scheme and this will run concurrently with your apprenticeship so your on the job training will progress alongside your accademic study
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* English (grade Level 2 or higher)
* Maths (grade Level 2 or higher)
A Level in:
* 3 subjects including a Science (grade B or Equivalent)

The role will see you working predominantly outdoors, in our UKAS award winning laboratory and in our offices. You will also have the opportunity to visit and work across the UK.
