CONTRACT MANAGER
Role requirements:
- Proven experience in the management of NEC contracts
- Prior experience providing contract management/administration for a large programme of works ideally within Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP)
- Someone who is a self starter, self motivated, able to roll up their sleeves
- Able to create best practice and processes, set up ways of working
- Comfortable with post contract management - speaking to suppliers, delivering outcomes and having difficult conversation
- NOT a procurement or legal specialist
Contract Manager
The Science Capability in Animal Health (SCAH) programme will secure the future of APHA’s Weybridge scientific campus - the UK’s primary capability for managing high risk animal diseases, a risk on the UK national risk register. The programme is ring fence funded across the SR and part of the Government's Major Projects Portfolio.
We have recently procured long term NEC4 Professional Services Contracts for delivery and design services. SCAH is also currently tendering for high complexity construction works, and need to ensure we have specialist input and support for the implementation of contracting terms. The SCAH Programme requires an experienced NEC4 Contract Manager/Administrator who will ensure that contracts are managed effectively and in accordance with T&Cs and industry best practise. Support will also be required to future Works and Service procurements.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Provision of contract management/administration to live NEC4 Professional Service Contracts. Including change management, payment, instructions, early warnings and general supplier communications.
• Monitor contract milestones and costs to ensure value for money and to drive supplier performance. Including management of incentives and KPIs.
• Support and refine the programme contract management strategy for contract management of the NEC4 contracts, including consistency of documentation, control, reporting and quality assurance.
• Development, ownership and evolution of Contract Management Plans for the NEC4 ECC & PSC contracts required to deliver the Programme.
• Support the implementation of NEC and contract management training requirements for existing colleagues and supply partners as they join the Programme.
• Act as the Programme SME with respect to NEC4 PSC and ECC contracts. To support and work in partnership with the Commercial and Legal Team.
• Provide critical review of the draft NEC Scope documents produced by the Programme, identifying risks and issues and provide guidance and support to stakeholders on the preparation of documentation for NEC4 PSC and ECC contracts
