The Migration and Borders System facilitates the legitimate movement of people and goods to support economic prosperity whilst also tackling illegal migration, removing those with no right to be here, detecting illicit goods and protecting the vulnerable. The Migration and Borders Group has a far-reaching and comprehensive change programme which encompasses policy, legislation and reform of the immigration system. This includes many of the most high-profile policy areas for the Home Office; asylum, migration, nationality, citizens’ rights and border transformation.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the Future Borders Immigration System (FBIS) Engagement and External Delivery Partnerships function. Key aspects of the role include: designing and implementing effective communication and engagement plans; building strong relationships with key delivery partners; ensuring smooth programme delivery outcomes through active communications and engagement; informing a complex landscape of stakeholders of changes to the UK's border; working through the impacts on them in a collaborative way while addressing risks and issues; supporting continuous improvement of the programme; and leading on briefing for Ministers and more widely.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the Future Borders Immigration System (FBIS) Programme Engagement and External Delivery Partnerships function. Key aspects of the role include ensuring smooth programme delivery outcomes through an active communications and engagement function, planning and informing a complex landscape of stakeholders of changes to the UK's border ensuring key partners such as FCDO, Banks and Carriers successfully assess, plan for and embed the changes they need to make.
Additional responsibilities include ownership of briefing and Ministerial support and internal engagement planning and delivery ensuring key messages reach all staff across the Migration and Borders system. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you will be expected to work closely with the FBIS Programme Delivery Directors and Programme Management Unit to plan, deliver and evaluate a suite of effective engagement activities that align to the key milestones within a Government Major Programme.
* Lead engagement across the Home Office, other Government Departments, Foreign Governments, Private Sector/Industry, Advisory bodies, UK Police, Banks and the travel sector (carriers across all modes and linked partners such as ground handlers)
* Develop and embed a successful and proactive model of relationship management with key external partners, collaborate and understand impact of changes we require them to make, drive those changes being embedded to our timelines, evaluate effectiveness and adapt plans to drive continuous improvement.
* Drive proactive planning and deliver a robust, assured roadmap of engagement activities appropriate for the message and the audience.
* Embed lessons learned in the delivery of engagement activities across, large-scale transformation and deliver critical path activities.
* Develop and deliver a suite of effective, adaptable core briefing and engagement products for a breadth of use cases
