Our customer, a leading multinational financial technology company, is seeking a Spanish-qualified Mid-Level Commercial Lawyer for a 6-month contract position based in London. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer to support a fast-paced and innovative legal team within the fintech sector. The ideal candidate will bring their expertise in commercial law and Spanish legal qualifications to assist with a variety of complex legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal support for commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of agreements such as SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, customer agreements, licensing agreements, and partnership arrangements.
* Advise internal stakeholders on key legal and regulatory issues, with a particular focus on fintech, and the impact of Spanish and EU laws.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, technology, and compliance, to support business objectives while managing legal risks.
* Manage and resolve legal disputes, providing assistance with litigation, arbitration, or mediation as needed.
* Provide general legal advice to support the commercial and operational goals of the business.
* Stay up to date with changes in Spanish and EU legislation affecting the fintech industry, including data protection, financial regulations, and technology-related laws.
Key Requirements:
* Spanish-qualified lawyer with experience in commercial law, ideally with exposure to the fintech or technology sectors.
* Strong experience in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and agreements.
* Knowledge of Spanish, EU, and UK regulatory frameworks affecting fintech, including data protection, cybersecurity, and financial services regulation.
* Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent communication and drafting skills in both languages.
* Proven ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and effective legal advice.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and mitigate legal risks.
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team, in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience working in a multinational or global corporate environment is advantageous.
