Sussex Teachers is partnering with a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Brighton to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This vibrant inner-city school, known for its inclusive ethos and strong sense of community, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support small groups of 2-3 children with SEND and SEMH challenges who require a more personalised learning environment outside the classroom.
* Work with infants aged 5–6 years, each with unique challenges and ability levels, helping them regulate emotions and engage in learning.
* Assist in delivering structured lessons and activities in a small group POD, ensuring children remain safe, supported, and engaged.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
* Collaborate with teachers and the SENDCo to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored intervention strategies.
* Encourage pupil participation and ensure activities are adapted to individual needs.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children, ideally in a school or similar setting.
* Understanding of SEND, SEMH, and strategies to support children with additional learning and emotional needs.
* A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to behaviour management.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
