Job overview
The post holder will work as part of the children’s community health commissioned service under the direction and supervision of the 0-19 team, contributing to the provision of high-quality services for children, young people, parents, carers, and families. This will be done within the framework of the Healthy Child Programme and Best Start In Life priorities. The role involves being proactive in delivering the national and Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social needs, and working in partnership with other agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives, and statutory requirements.
Main duties of the job
1. Support the 0-19 team in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, ensuring services are provided within the tiered model approach – building community capacity, universal, universal plus, and universal partnership plus.
2. Contribute to the development, delivery, and reporting of health-promoting activities within a variety of settings.
3. Deliver evidence-based early intervention programmes to support children, young people, and families, e.g., Speech and language development, prevention of accidents in the home, promotion of oral health, promotion of healthy weight, and physical activity.
4. Signpost and provide information for parents and young people, communicating information in an understandable form to parents, children, and young people.

* NVQ Level 3 Qualification or equivalent.
