The role
Our client is looking for a Research and Analysis Lead to help them with research and analysis across the organisation.
Your role will sit with a team of colleagues who focus on all things data, research, evidence, insight and evaluation. They have a mixture of skills in research and analytics, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methods. Every member has a vital role to play, sharing their skills, knowledge and experience, and learning and developing together.
They recently launched their new strategy, with an ambitious plan to reach every hearing-impaired young person wherever they are and whenever they need them. Their mission is to support the organisation to achieve this vision by being data, evidence and insight driven. They also need to be able to monitor and evaluate work to measure the impact they are having, and to support continuous improvement. Your role will be vital in helping them to achieve these things.
Our client has embraced agile ways of working, which includes a strong focus on the customer, flexibility, autonomy and project work being done in cross-organisational, self-organising teams. This means your time will be spent doing a mixture of work with the rest of the team and working with cross-organisational teams.
What you'll do
- Lead on developing, commissioning and managing any external research tenders our client puts out to further their research.
- Lead on the future design and oversight of any internal research they decide to undertake themselves.
- Develop and own a set of research and engagement principles, acting as a source of organisational knowledge on research and engagement ethics.
- Work on projects which require complex mixed method analysis.
- Provide practical support, guidance and advice to support colleagues, with good research and analysis skills.
- Work closely with colleagues in the team, sharing skills and supporting mutual learning, development and growth.
- Help drive the organisation towards a culture of customer-focused and evidence-based decision-making.
What you'll need
- Strong skills and experience in developing, commissioning and managing external research tender processes from end-to-end.
- Experience of designing and delivering research projects.
- Strong knowledge of research principles and ethics.
- Experience conducting complex mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) research and analysis.
- Experience of conducting research involving people with lived experience.
- Strong reporting skills using different outputs and mechanisms for different audiences.
- An understanding of monitoring and evaluation in a charity.
- Skills to support embedding a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well, whether that be offering support, guidance and training, coaching and developing others, or influencing and constructively challenging to improve how our client does things.
- Highly proactive, comfortable with autonomy, passionate and driven to make a difference.
- Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values & principles.
- A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position).
