Job Purpose:
We seek an experienced, talented, and focused Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic team currently delivering installation, maintenance, and product support services for LV and HV assets across the UK.
Job Context:
You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of LV and HV services to our clients and customers. As part of our team, you will support your peers in the delivery of all scheduled works, providing support and ensuring the functions of the team’s systems, planning/maintaining training, and selection of tools and equipment. You will support and maintain our agile methodologies, resolving scheduling clashes or queries, support open and free-flowing communications, and lead projects when required.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the UK electrical services industry, covering HV or LV works across sectors including private HV networks, DNO’s, IDNO’s or ICP’s. Private networks will be a key focus of this role and therefore a strong technical knowledge of private networks is essential. The role will support projects and maintenance type tasks through from sales into delivery under the strategic direction of the Operations Manager and the Head of Department.

Job Dimensions:
You will be working with a team of skilled LV/HV Engineers, SAP’s, Managers, and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry. The role is a balance of home-based, site visits, and working from one of our offices. The core hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 am to 12:00 Friday, including out of hours fault calls and weekend phone support. Depending on operational work and site requirements, additional hours will be required to ensure managerial support is provided throughout the range of a flexible working week.
Key Accountabilities:
These will include:
1. Driving growth of our UK Energy Services business, through supporting all aspects of delivery order book management, through to Programme completion, working closely with a wide range of external stakeholders.
2. Manage multi-disciplined teams and individuals, ensuring all work is planned to the highest standard whilst managing compliance, quality, safety, and control over costs.
3. Support staff to ensure each person can achieve their potential and lines of communication remain open and strong.
4. Develop new sales opportunities whilst meeting customer expectations throughout the delivery and management of projects and programmes.
5. Support the team in managing customer communications, expectations, and future opportunities.
6. Manage the application of scheduling, coordinate site work, and logistics, with a range of engineers, sub-contractors, and utility companies.
7. Oversee the handovers from sales through to delivery and invoicing.
8. Ensure work programme is efficiently utilised, supporting the delivery team through having the right skills and availability within the engineering team to deliver the order book/work bank.
9. Management of the department's order book utilising agile efficient methods.
10. Oversee customer and subcontractor relationships attending meetings both in Thame and at customer premises where required.
11. Support Engineering team with H&S documents, job packs, and programmes as required.
12. Carry out site audits and attend customer meetings.
13. Ensure projects and programmes are managed successfully - scheduling, job costing, material purchases and specifications, logistics, and travel arrangements.
14. Manage commercial requirements for individual projects, frameworks, and applicable T&C.
15. Supporting out of hours calls as required and management of call rota.
Desirable:
Assist on site with the delivery of works/project supervision.
Mentoring of Engineers, supervisors, and supporting staff.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• Experience in delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment.
• Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry (HV and LV).
• Experience in managing teams and individuals, mentoring, and evaluating skills.
• Good knowledge of LV/HV engineering, outsourcing planning, SAP duties, construction planning, site management, and logistics.
• Computer literate – skilled in all of MS Office, MS Project.
• Technically qualified with a BTEC, C&G, HNC in engineering, project management or similar fields.
• Full driver’s License, willingness to travel as required to support team and individuals.
Desirable:
• Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.
• Training – Project management, Agile, ISO9001, ISO45001, NEBOSH, SMSTS.
• Assist in the delivery of work as overtime or time in lieu.
