As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a Sales Estimator to work within our dedicated Estimating team, you will play a pivotal role within the company, being the first point of call for our valued customers, converting quotes into orders. As an Estimator, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, playing a key role in the sales process, cost estimation, material selection and project management.
With a wide and varied customer base, and an ever-expanding workload, MTL Advanced offers the opportunity to work on some prestigious engineering projects; fostering a culture of teamwork, where estimators, engineers, and project managers work closely together to deliver successful projects.
About the role
1. Respond to all enquiries from customers and engage directly
2. Liaise with new and existing clients to identify their specific order requirements
3. Understand customer information, drawings and technical information
4. Prepare detailed and competitive quotations and proposals
5. Ensure swift follow up of quotes and negotiate to secure orders
6. Liaise with sub-contract suppliers as required
7. Monitor and communicate delivery times along with updates on progress
8. Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals and communications for future reference
9. Document key points and action items
10. Build, develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, maintaining our high standard of service
About you
11. Sales experience in a similar engineering / manufacturing environment
12. Highly literate and numerate, commercially astute
13. Confidence to deal with decision makers and customers directly
14. Proficient in using CRM and CAD software and other sales tools
15. A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
17. Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
18. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
