Satash Community Care Project is currently recruiting for the Senior Support worker /senior care worker role with an immediate start to work in South Ockendon area.
We are looking for reliable, dedicated staff, who can offer personalised support and care service to our highly vulnerable children and young adults.
Job Role/Responsibilities include:
1. The senior support worker has responsibility for a cluster of care workers, typically between 1 to 3 support workers
2. Duties include responsibility for supervising staff and volunteers including managing their performances; train and mentor new staff and delegating works/duties to the team.
3. Our organisation works to support and mentor challenging and vulnerable young people to achieve their maximum potential through quality services. A dedication and commitment to safeguard vulnerable adults, and children and promote their welfare is paramount.
4. The successful candidate(s) must be able to evidence ability to provide appropriate support for a range of our vulnerable service users with learning disabilities, complex needs, challenging behaviour and autistic spectrum disorder both at home and in the community.
5. Assisting with professional development skills of the team.
6. Supporting service users to plan and engage in activities in line with their individualised programme which could include holidays, social & religious events, sporting activities and education.
7. Managing challenging behaviour, providing advice and emotional support.
8. Working with the manager to identify areas that need change or improvement in current practice and support change when areas of concern are highlighted.
9. In addition, senior support worker will carry out general care duties, including:
- ensuring all aspects of care and support to the service users is maintained at a consistently high level
- assists and enables service users with all aspects of personal care (to dress, undress, wash, use the toilet and bath)
- completing all required documents/books including any health folders, etc.
- dealing with sickness cover and ensuring minimum staffing level is maintained at all times
- undertake cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation
- assists with service users overall safety, comfort and wellbeing.
- administration of medication, re-ordering and accurate record keeping
- help with planning the daily activities, provides interest and activities to stimulate and engage with the service user.
10. Be accountable and responsible for your role and provide and maintain the best quality of care at all time.
Successful candidate must be able to use Microsoft Office and report writing. To ensure Health & Safety procedures alongside company Policies & Procedures are adhered to.

Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification of NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or working towards QCF level 3 in Children and Young People
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- Full UK driving license essential
- Is respectful, articulate and sensitive in style of communication
- Is motivated towards excellence and improvement of personal performance with a can do attitude
- Flexibility to work on rolling shift patterns, daytime and waking night shifts may be required across all days of the week
