Brief Description
Route Services is a division of Network Rail that provides the Routes with services so they can help Network Rail deliver a better railway for a better Britain. We support the Routes with a myriad of services and supplies they need to maintain and operate the railway.
This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), an area of the business which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
About the role (External)
We have an exciting opportunity available to join our team as an Information Controller at our National Record Centre.
In this role, you'll establish and maintain an information management and document control service function, including processes, procedures and supporting systems for the Geographical Area. You'll maintain effective control of all programme/project information and documentation, consistent with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) and other national standards and processes.
We're looking for an excellent communicator with fantastic organisational skills who is comfortable communicating at all levels of the business, setting clear expectations when necessary.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Engage with projects as key contact for the Geographical Area with The Sponsor, Business Champion, Change Programme, Systems Implementation and Project.
2. Liaise with other Geographical Areas and other implementations within NR to agree conformity of approach and consistent accessibility of documentation.
3. Approve processes, procedures and systems to maintain effective information management and document control.
4. Manage for effective resourcing of document control activity.
5. Monitor adoption of information management and document control processes within programme and project teams.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential
1. Relevant successful experience in the management of information and documentation in an engineering project environment.
2. Knowledge of project management processes.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of the Railway Industry.
2. Knowledge of Network Rail's investment processes and procedures.
