Summary The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist supports RRMC’s occupational safety and environmental compliance programs through inspections, monitoring, recordkeeping and training with a primary focus on occupational safety of employees and environmental health and safety and a secondary focus on the Environment of Care (EC) and Life Safety (LS). Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Minimum Work Experience Five (5) years – experience in environmental health & safety, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, construction safety, and/or hazardous waste management. Healthcare experience desired. Required Licenses/Certifications Certified Healthcare Safety Professional preferred. OSHA HAZWOPER certification (40-hour) preferred. OSHA 10 certification, (OSHA 30 preferred) Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Demonstrates a strong interest in promoting a robust occupational safety culture. Field experience in physical plant functions and application of work area hazard assessments/job hazard analyses processes. Ability to work independently and contribute within a collaborative team. Willingness and ability to support projects and initiatives outside of normal business hours. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Salary Range: $64,000.00 - $101,000.00
