Job Description The Periodic Review of Safety post will be accountable to the Naval Base Design Authority (DA) Group Head for developing and implementing the programme of activity that successfully delivers the Periodic Review of Safety at Devonport Naval Base. They will also be responsible for the delivery of a Nuclear Site Safety Justification Capability. Specifically: To develop and implement the programme of activity that successfully delivers Periodic Review of Safety for HMNB Devonport now and in future on a rolling programme. As an SME, provide advice to DA Group Head and Nuclear Safety Assurance (NSA) Group Head on continuous improvement to the Naval Base Safety Management Arrangements and to ensure the safety case development programme supports the One Devonport Vision and Navy Command business outputs. To Chair the Periodic Review of Safety Working Group. To Programme manage the delivery of Actions identified by the review process to meet the Authorisees expectations. To Liaise to Nuclear Regulatory Authorities and provide confidence and evidence that the Periodic Review of Safety meets the required standards and relevant good practice. Communicating with stakeholders, ensure that Devonport Naval Base continues to support the Fleet requirements and to ensure that any changes to those requirements are assessed, sanctioned and fed into the PRS process. The post holder will provide advice to the Design Authority and Nuclear Safety Assurance group heads on continuous improvement to the Naval Base Safety Management Arrangements. The post holder will review and comment on Naval Base Safety Cases and other nuclear related documentation, with reference to future infrastructure capability integration. Responsible as Project Contract Manager for the governance and day to day running of the Nuclear Site Safety Justification, Nuclear Advice and Project Management Contract. To ensure compliance including approval of Site Safety Justification annual work plans, co-ordination and priority setting of Naval Base requirements for nuclear Site Safety Justification documentation.
