We are currently seeking a Skilled Painter to join the team. This permanent position will involve working on late shifts to support the delivery of high-quality metallic and composite components and assemblies for various aircraft. This role is essential in ensuring the production of items that meet precise aerospace industry standards.

Starting Salary: £35,710.11 (£29,758.43 + 20% shift allowance)
Uplifted Salary (once AO stamp obtained): £36,768.75 (£30,640.63 + 20% shift allowance)
Hours: 14:15-22:30 (Mon-Thu) / 12:00-18:00 (Fri)
Key Responsibilities:
EHS - Promote a safe workplace environment and ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures.
Clocking and Booking - Accurate and timely clocking (time and attendance) and booking (job costing).
Housekeeping - Maintain clean workstations and proper storage of tools and equipment.
Quality - Adhere to all quality standards, processes, and procedures, ensuring minimum wastage.
Cost Management - Support cost reduction initiatives by reducing unnecessary expenditure.
Knowledge & Skills - Stay updated with necessary operations and maintain Approved Operator (AO) stamps.
Team Working - Participate actively in team meetings, share knowledge, and coach trainees if required.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned consistent with the role.
Role Specific:
Application of specialist paint schemes, including primer, topcoat, anti-abrasion, and gloss, on metallic and composite components.
Application of resin and fillers to components as per customer specifications.
Manual abrading and use of orbital sander.
Masking and stencilling aircraft details and assemblies according to technical drawings and work instructions.
Mixing fillers, paints, and resins per manufacturer instructions and COSHH requirements.
Operating cure booths and monitoring paint cure cycles.
Testing painted surfaces using Tape, isoscope, and gloss.
Job Requirements:
Essential
Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a recognised allied trade.
Competence in numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to read and understand technical documentation.
Good dexterity and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
Drive to succeed both individually and as part of a team.
Positive approach to problem-solving.
Participation in training programmes and adaptability to new learning.
Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
Working understanding of the 5 S and lean principles.
