Job Title: Social Worker - Children In Care
Salary: 36,124 -£50,788
Responsible to: Team Manager
Work Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)
Location: Milton Keynes City Council
The Role
The Children in care team in Milton Keynes is a rewarding team to be in, we act as corporate parents to the children and young people in our care. We are ambitious for our children and deliver a high standard of service to ensure our children and young people achieve good outcomes.
Key Requirements
* Chairing multi-disciplinary meetings and working closely with other agencies/professionals to complete assessments and formulate child centred care plans.
* Completing annual Children and Family Assessments on each case to ensure that the care plan for the child/young person is reviewed.
* Ensuring that children have all of their day-to-day care needs met and fully understand their care story. This will be through the provision of direct work/life story work and multi-agency working with other professionals.
* Managing a caseload of up to 18 children with children subject to Care Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, Placed with Parents and children subject to Placement Orders.
* Working as part of a team to share knowledge, develop team skills and contribute to the overall development of the team.
Skills & Experience
1. A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Committed to supporting children, young people and their families and has the resilience to go that extra mile to ensure they achieve their potential.
3. Someone who thinks outside the box, is able to challenge and make evidenced based decisions.
4. UK driving license, business insurance and can travel in and outside of Milton Keynes which may sometimes include working outside of office hours.
5. Willing to work collaboratively as part of a team in sharing knowledge and supporting team development.

As a Social Worker within our team, the candidate will play a pivotal role in fulfilling statutory responsibilities for Children in Care. The role involves utilising knowledge and expertise to support the team, ensuring the best outcomes for children in care.
Our team is deeply committed to learning and self-development. We meet every two weeks to discuss various topics, such as practice models, tools, and ideas, with a team member leading the session. This collaborative approach fosters a strong sense of unity and partnership.
