The role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Registered Nurse as Home Manager for Beech Tree House situated in Alnwick.

Home Managers within our organisation oversee the care of residents and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Home.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:
* You will be acting as a consultant to all members of staff and to maintain the highest standards of care through direct involvement and supervision.
* To interact with residents, in a nursing care setting, to ensure that their health care needs are being met and resolve any problems where appropriate.
* To report any ill-health amongst residents and make requests for GP / Professional visits where necessary.
* To ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that residents’ dietary needs are met.
* To audit Care Plan documentation, to ensure best practice.
* To supervise visits and liaise with GPs in order to establish a good relationship between GPs / Health Care Professionals and the Care Home.
* To manage, monitor and maintain budgets and take corrective action in conjunction with the Head of Care Operations.
* To provide a suitable and coherent rota for staff to follow to ensure staffing requirements comply with staffing notices issued by CQC.
* To comply with the Care Home’s policies and procedures at all times.
* To update policies and procedures to meet the ongoing needs of the Home after consultation with the Change to Operations Manager/Director of Care.
* To ensure all records are kept up to date and issues of confidentiality are upheld.
* To investigate all complaints from whatever source and produce a report and recommendations for action.
* To undertake all disciplinary hearings required according to Company policy and ensure full documentation and that the Operations Manager/Director of Care and Human Resources Manager are kept informed.
* To investigate all accidents in the Care Home and ensure full documentation is completed.
* To undertake audits of service delivery to ensure quality service is being provided and to identify areas for improvement.
* To be responsible for the custody of all medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
* To carry out duties as “Responsible Officer” for the Care Home in line with CQC/Care Commission guidelines, the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and Fire Regulations.
* To ensure that the Care Home complies with all relevant legislation and any concerns should be raised with the Head of Care Operations as soon as possible.
* To be ‘on-call’, for emergencies, which may arise within the Care Home and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted.
