Part-Qualified Patent Attorney - Engineering

The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Advanced Engineering group, working with the London team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in one of our UK locations.
Responsibilities:
1. Advising clients on securing appropriate IP protection
2. Researching prior art and developing creative arguments against patent office objections
3. Analysing and editing existing patent specifications to overcome objections
4. Drafting specifications for complex technical inventions
5. Researching and advising on the status, scope, and validity of third-party intellectual property rights
6. Building a network of contacts to convert into clients
7. Developing relationships with current clients and bringing in new business
About You: To join us as a Part-Qualified Patent Attorney, you’ll need:
1. A part-qualified (UK or European) Patent Attorney
2. A strong academic or industry record in an engineering discipline
3. Experience in drafting claims and responses to office actions for prosecution
4. Impeccable written English and first-rate communication skills
5. A track record of interacting effectively with staff and clients at all levels
6. A proactive approach and ability to build rapport with clients
