Hours: 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30am – 3:36pm plus standby and overtime opportunities increasing earnings by potential £8-£10k per annum upon completion of essential company training
Salary: Competitive base salary up to £36,840 per annum depending on skills and experience.
About the role:
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Wargrave Sewage Treatment Works (STW). As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Technician:
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
* Provide technical advice and training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Work on equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and associated control gear.
* Complete statutory checks as required.
* Always work safely and comply with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
What you should bring to the role:
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification.
* A valid driving license is essential.
* Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification, would be ideal but not essential.
* Physically fit as you will work in confined spaces.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
* Be a time-served apprentice with considerable experience in electrical systems.
* Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota will be required after training.
