Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Respiratory Consultant to join one of our public clients on a full-time basis for a 3-week contract. The shifts run from Monday-Friday; no weekend work is required. You will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, helping to improve their quality of life through expert care and tailored treatment plans.
What you'll do:
* Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients with respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.
* Lead and deliver outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients with complex respiratory needs.
* Provide guidance and leadership to junior medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals within the respiratory care team.
* Actively contribute to the development of clinical protocols, patient pathways, and service improvement initiatives within the respiratory department.
* Participate in the teaching and mentoring of medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in respiratory medicine, ensuring best practice is followed.
* Contribute to research and audits within the respiratory field to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
What we're looking for:
* Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
* CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Respiratory Medicine or equivalent qualification.
* Proven experience in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions.
* Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care and continuous professional development.
* Experience in advanced lung disease management, including lung transplantation and/or sleep medicine is desirable.
