What skills and experience we're looking for
Teaching Assistant Grade C (NJC 5-7 £11,475 - £11,843 pro rata) part time (mornings 8.30am to 12.45pm) (20 Hours per week), specialising in SEND. Temporary position until 31st August 2025. Start date Jan 2025.
We are looking for a well-qualified and highly competent person to join our school team as a teaching assistant. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming a permanent, part or full-time role from September 2025.
The successful candidate should:
• Have effective literacy and numeracy skills in order to work, as necessary, with pupils across the primary age range.
• Have experience of working with small groups of pupils to run interventions focused on addressing gaps in learning.
• Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and attainment.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills – this includes effective communication skills and working well within a team.
• Be open to advice, feedback and guidance/direction from colleagues.
• Be interested in and willing to take part in CPD opportunities to extend their skill base.
• Have an understanding of, or a willingness to learn, about how to effectively teach phonics and early reading.
• Be supportive of the School’s Trauma Informed culture and relationships policy.
• Demonstrate relevant experience and training in supporting with SEND
• Experience in the planning and delivery of bespoke and personalised interventions
• Experience of communicating and working with families.
• Be able to evaluate the impact of interventions over time.
