About Bikmo
At Bikmo, we’re on a mission to protect the world’s riders and the places we ride. As an award-winning cycle insurance specialist and proud B Corp, we already protect over 75,000 riders across the UK and Europe. Our approach is simple: we create comprehensive, easy-to-manage insurance policies designed for every rider, using technology to make the process seamless.
We partner with some of the biggest names in the cycling world—think British Cycling, Brompton, Trek Stores, and Deliveroo. Our purpose is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re committed to making a positive impact, which is why we’re a member of 1% for the Planet.
The role: Insurance Project Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team at Bikmo. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Bikmo as we evolve our insurer relationships, roll out a new insurance administration platform, and optimise our payment solutions.
Reporting to our COO, you’ll manage high-impact projects across our business, ensuring a seamless and customer-focused experience while upholding Bikmo’s B Corp values.
This is a mid-level role ideal for someone with a solid background in insurance or financial services, with significant experience in project delivery and a passion for making a positive impact.
Your mission
1. Lead the implementation of a new approach to insurer management, in particular managing our transition from broker to MGA.
2. Manage the launch of our new insurance administration platform across all territories, overseeing the migration of our existing customer base to provide a seamless experience.
3. Transition our payment solutions from our current provider to Stripe, implementing updated internal processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
4. Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, particularly in areas that impact our project deliverables, supporting a risk-aware and customer-focused culture.
5. Coordinate with stakeholders across departments and territories, working closely with our teams to create transparent, efficient workflows and communication plans.
6. Prioritise the Consumer Duty by ensuring that all projects consider the impacts on our customers, delivering value and maintaining compliance with the latest regulatory guidelines.
Your approach to work
You will be the first Project Manager in the Bikmo team. Until now, members of our 50-person team have been managing their own projects but we have reached the point where we need a dedicated project manager to drive cross-functional change.
We are firmly in our scale-up phase and want to hold onto our entrepreneurial spirit, but we need to implement more rigour around change without becoming overly bureaucratic. You will help us do that, bringing your experience with a healthy amount of pragmatism. You will have to be self-directed, flexible and happy to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
We believe that the best approach to work is to give our team members autonomy and accountability within their roles. We foster a culture of trust, clear communication, and flexibility, working as one team, supporting each other to deliver our goals.
What we’re looking for
1. The perfect person will have strong project management experience in the insurance industry and have an amazing ability to get stuff done while maintaining the support of the rest of the team.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors.
3. Ability to run several projects at once and manage the interdependencies between them.
4. Knowledge of FCA regulations and their application within a project management context.
5. Proven experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
6. A methodical approach to project planning, with the ability to set clear timelines and deliverables.
7. Familiarity with project management tools and techniques, with the adaptability to choose the right method for the project.
8. A customer-first mindset, with a commitment to delivering experiences that align with Bikmo’s purpose and values.
9. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, from technical teams to leadership.
10. A collaborative spirit, eager to work in a purpose-driven, B Corp-certified company focused on positive impact.
11. Travel: Whilst this is a remote role based in the UK, you'll need a willingness to travel for meetings, events, and company gatherings.
