Job summary 37.5 hours per week Ward A4 is a busy 33 bedded elderly medical ward. For the right candidate this will be a rewarding opportunity to develop as a leader and learn additional management skills. You will be required to support the ward manager and step up in the ward managers absence. We are looking for a caring, empathetic, enthusiastic individual who has a passion to improve the experience of our patients. You will be required to have minimum 12 months experience at band 6 and ideally have some experience of working with elderly patients, have an understanding of reconditioning and have the passion to drive change and work as part of a team. Main duties of the job Work clinically as the nurse in charge of the ward Facilitate safe discharge of patients in a timely manner Assist the ward manager to carry out audit / governance Manage concerns at ward level and via telephone Report and investigate incidents via datix (previous experience would be of benefit) Support junior members of the team and student nurses Display effective time management and organisational skills Be willing to take on additional duties to champion areas such as tissue viability / reducing falls Working in line at all times with the NMC code of conduct About us The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) is a combined acute and community Trust serving our local population of around 270,000 people.
