Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Hours: 9am – 5pm (with flexibility)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic team in Hampshire. This role will be responsible for planning and implementing safe, repeatable, and efficient production systems, processes, and equipment. You will play a key role in problem-solving, continuous improvement, and ensuring the successful introduction of new products into production.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement efficient and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Determine optimal methods, tooling, and processes for manufacturing.
Create and maintain manufacturing routings and BOMs (Bill of Materials) within the company's MRP system.
Utilize 3D design software to develop tooling and assembly aids (machined and 3D printed).
Produce, update, and enhance manufacturing specifications to improve efficiency.
Visit supplier and customer sites as needed to assist with technical challenges.
Estimate manufacturing costs, including recurring and non-recurring expenses.
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, ensuring smooth development and prototyping.
Support APQP processes by facilitating FMEA plans, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
Research and implement new manufacturing technologies and systems to drive business growth.
Provide technical support for production, including assembly and machining improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Minimum HNC qualification in a relevant field.
Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing and design tolerances for assembly and machining.
Familiarity with metal treatments or unconventional machining processes.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
Skilled in Microsoft Office.
Experience using AutoCAD 2D or 3D design software.
Knowledge of process mapping techniques.
Desirable:
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aeronautics.
Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry.
Welding knowledge (fusion, resistance, or laser welding preferred).
Technical design and drawing expertise.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
Extensive experience in compiling technical documentation for manufacturing.
