Duties will include updating patient management systems, answering calls and greeting patients/relatives, preparing notes and supporting the nursing team with all aspects of ward administration such as record keeping, data entry, filing and scanning.

Covering 365 days over a 24-hour period on a rotational shift pattern and complete the administrative tasks
that are aligned to provide effective care for patients on the Emergency and Acute pathway.

Duties will include,
• To ensure that there is good communication between the administration team and the clinical team so that the Department area runs smoothly.
• Liaising with patients, relatives, carers, outside agencies and colleagues within a multidisciplinary team via telephone and face to face communication.
• To ensure that all patients are received and directed to the appropriate waiting area or ward area in a courteous and professional and timely manner as the post holder is often the first point of contact for most patients.
• To ensure that patients demographic details are always kept up to date in the medical records
and on the Patient Administration System, by checking personal details such as name, address, telephone number, ethnic origin, and GP.
• To use the Patient Administration System to book patients onto the system and to make follow up outpatients as and when required.
