We have an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as an Assistant Financial Accountant on our Chippenham site on a 9-month fixed term basis. This role supports the Financial Accountant and is responsible for a number of Financial Accounting Areas. Hours: 37.5 hours per week with hybrid working, attending our office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Ownership of the Rebate accounting process, including the timely issuing of invoices, reconciliation of accounts, and production of accounts for Procurement review.
* Preparation of Central Balance Sheet Reconciliations, escalating issues promptly.
* Support the Financial Accountant and R2R Manager through the Half Year and Year-end external audits, including journal testing at Half Year, hard close, and Year-end along with the collection of balance sheet sample information.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Identify key controls in the accounting processes and implement improvements where necessary.
* Other accounting activities as required to deliver the outputs of the Financial Services Team.

* Monthly schedules produced and reviewed with the Financial Accountant and Head of Procurement.
* Balance Sheet reconciled and reviewed on a timely basis.
* Year End reporting deadlines met.
* Examples of improved processes.
* Examples of implementation and adherence to key controls.
What will you bring?
* Part qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
* Experience in preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Experience of working to deadlines.
* Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality and efficiency benefits.
* A good understanding of accounting concepts to manage the timing and treatment of transactions in line with company policy and local GAAP.
* Organised and structured approach to meeting deadlines.
