We are working with a large comprehensive school in Middlesex looking to appoint an Attendance & Admissions Officer. This is an exciting time to join the team with a new Headteacher in post, new building and a new vision for the school. Reporting directly to the Assistant Headteacher, the Attendance & Admissions Officer will be working in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining a high level of student attendance reducing absence and unauthorised absence. The Officer will also support admission process applications, fair banding testing, and appeals to the school, providing a welcoming and efficient point of contact concerning all aspects of Admissions processes. Duties include: Liaison with parents/carers and students regarding attendance issues Maintaining accurate records, relating to attendance using in-house Management of Information System Providing administrative support relative to the post to the Head of Years, including attending and arranging meetings Handling enquiries from schools, parents/carers, students and appropriate external agencies on all aspects of the admissions process and the status of applications Producing official correspondence to applicants in relation to admissions to the school within specified guidelines and timeframes Organising the Fair Banding testing process for all applicants to the school, including liaison with families and external agencies in relation to test dates, ordering and posting of tests. Responsibility for communicating offers of places maintain waiting lists in accordance with School Admission Policy. The successful candidate will be educated at GCSE level, at grade 5 or equivalent (including English and Maths), with a relevant administration qualification (NVQ L3 and/or ECDL) and a minimum of 2 years clerical/administrative experience. With excellent communication, numeracy and computer skills, you will have experience of computer-based database record systems. An impeccable telephone manner and ability to deal with enquiries with minimal supervision will be essential for this role. You will be able to work constructively as part of a team, being efficient and meticulous in organisation. You should also be able to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations. Occasional attendance at parent’s evening will be required. Full-time, term time only plus 3 weeks, 42 weeks of the year.
