Assembly Planner
Location: Cheltenham, UK (On-site)

Role Overview:
The Assembly Planner will create, review and manage the assembly production plan for designated lines, working with the production teams to supply all demand in line with the customer requirements. The post-holder will take an active involvement with new projects, the calculation of existing and new stock levels and process design/review within the department.
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…
* Reviewing and actioning MRP messages based on an appropriate degree of analysis of the supply and demand situation.
* Managing the release of sales order demand with the aim of balancing customer requirements with production capabilities.
* Reviewing items as part of the regular Inventory Modelling (IQM) process; interpreting and recommending the ideal inventory settings and key opportunities to optimise the inventory level (e.g. batch size adjustment, lead-time reduction).
* Managing all product sales lead-times aiming to maintain on time to customer requested dates while maintaining the ability to deliver product on time to commitment.
* Reviewing the supply of component parts on a daily basis, progressing any key shortages and seeking all possible resolutions, such as suggesting alternative products, shuffling production priorities and identifying substitute components.
* Creation and management of the assembly production plans for designated assembly lines and maintaining close cooperation with production teams to meet required deadlines.
* Supporting New Product Introductions, continuous improvement programmes and any other projects requiring planning support.
Your previous experience is likely to include…
* Planning a production environment.
* Working knowledge and experience of planning with MRP.
* Working within a mechanical engineering production environment.
* Utilising product knowledge in planning.
* Utilising an IT based planning system.
* A working knowledge of using an ERP system, such as JD Edwards E1.
