Job Summary: To lead all bids for the UK business, securing opportunities and enabling further growth for the business. The role will lead all activities associated with a client bids and tenders, ensuring Taranto maintain and grow the current win ratio. The Bid manager leads a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, commercially strong tender responses that are submitted on time and on budget, in line with internal governance processes. The bid manager is responsible for continual improvement, updating and growing bid process documentation and ensuring the library of resources available is of the highest quality to reduce time to complete responses while growing the quality of the response. Job Description: Responsibilities: Monitor Portals for opportunities either pre-identified by the Sales team or new opportunities from client base. Drive early bid/no bid decisions by preparing a full overview of the opportunity, competition, background, pricing in line with existing Taranto processes. Develop and achieve sign off for win strategies and Power Positions. Lead the creation of win strategies and power positions alongside key internal stakeholders. Proactive and detailed project management of the complete tender process, including strategy, design, drafting, review and production. Thorough engagement with the bid team from bid/no bid all the way through the bid lifecycle ensuring deadlines are achieved. Deliver compelling, high quality, winning bid documents (including presentation materials if required), tailored to each opportunity, so that bids are delivered successfully, on time, to standard and budget. Hold overall accountability for the quality of all documents submitted as part of the bid process. Specifically: Make sure that Power Positions are embedded through the response and any subsequent documentation Pricing: Ensure that the commercial proposition is devised and reviewed against the technical solution. Ensure that sufficient time is available to model the impact on the P&L and corporate ratios. Ensure that all costs have been captured and challenge internally when required. Liaising with relevant internal teams to ensure we fully leverage experience, knowledge and collateral. Ensure that each department has run a gap analysis of the requirements of the solution. Own and continually improve documented Bid Processes to ensure efficient use of resources, careful commercial risk management and increasing effectiveness in bid production Ensure all bid activities comply with these formal Bid Processes & ensuring that this best practice is understood across the organisation Build and maintain excellent relationships with sales, project delivery, product management, finance, customer care & admin teams, allowing the creation of effective bid teams and efficient information flows Lead the review and improve where necessary all text provided by technical experts to the tender document to ensure a consistent message comes across. Ensure that all chosen tenders are fully reviewed and submitted on time. Conduct a post-submission review to ensure that all lessons are learnt. Ensure these are used to continuously improve our tender process, our bid library and our products. Activity management existing frameworks (G-Cloud, ESPO) and work with sales team to review and apply to new frameworks. Progression within the role will enable the candidate to: Working with the marketing team, collate, create, store and share information about our clients, products and service capabilities (including Case Studies, Capability Statements, Client Testimonials & USPs) so that relevant information is collated and can be re-used, productivity is improved, consistency of message to clients is achieved and our brand is enhanced. Engage with the market at industry events, specifically around procurement and paths to procure. Build up a network of contacts within this field to ensure Taranto are always ahead of procurement practices. About you: Degree level qualification OR equivalent relevant experience. Knowledge/experience of working on complex public sector tenders. Particularly in a parking sector environment, especially useful. Consistent high quality communication and documentation (internal and external) with excellent written English Previous experience in technical record/report writing Advanced MS Office skills Strong project management expertise – ideally within bid management A proven ability to motivate and manage a dispersed team Strong verbal communicator at all levels, face to face and across dispersed teams Methodical approach to tasks with the ability to delegate Approachable, supportive manner, leading by example Keen eye for detail and ability to accurately and swiftly proof read Leads the team by example, doing what it takes to get the bid submitted on time with an approved commercial profile Ability to occasionally travel throughout the UK. Most of the role will be conducted remotely, occasional attendance to exhibitions or client-meetings may be required.
