Cheshire West Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Supporting Independence Team (SIT). In this vital role, you'll work closely with vulnerable children and their families, helping to create positive outcomes through high-quality, evidence-based interventions. Responsibilities:
As a Children's Social Worker, you will:
1. Case Management: Operate as a practitioner within the team, managing complex cases related to vulnerable children. You will be responsible for conducting child protection investigations, care planning, and ensuring that interventions are of the highest quality.
2. Support & Supervision: Provide support to Social Workers and Personal Advisors in managing complex cases, offering guidance, and contributing to professional development.
3. Collaboration: Maintain professional relationships with partner agencies such as the police, hospitals, and mental health services, ensuring a coordinated approach to service delivery.
4. Record Keeping: Keep accurate and up-to-date records using the Council's electronic management systems, including Liquid Logic and Carenotes.
5. Leadership: Deputize for the Team Manager as needed, providing operational management support and representing SIT in multi-agency forums.
Requirements:
6. Hold a recognized qualification in social work (e.g., Dip.SW, CSS, CQSW) and are registered with Social Work England.
7. Have substantial post-qualifying experience, particularly in children's safeguarding, with the ability to manage complex cases and work in multi-disciplinary settings.
8. Possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and are capable of working autonomously while maintaining a focus on safe practice.
9. Must have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as the role requires travel both within and outside the borough.
