Role Overview: The Financial Accountant will be responsible for assisting with and overseeing financial reporting for the UK business. This role will involve key financial processes, compliance, and reporting responsibilities to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Accountant will support or take ownership of the following tasks, along with any additional duties as required:
* Monthly accruals and prepayments
* Lease accounting
* Fixed asset accounting
* VAT accounting and reporting
* Managing the intercompany reconciliation process
* Reviewing month-end processes for payables and receivables
* Balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
* Monthly reconciliations across the three reporting systems: Aurora, Tagetik, and HFM
* Supporting the annual audit process
Additionally, the role will be actively involved in SOX process controls, focusing on implementing and reviewing controls across various functions as the business progresses towards full SOX compliance.
What We’re Looking For: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can contribute to the finance team’s success through accuracy, efficiency, and strong analytical skills.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Experience in financial reporting and control
* Strong understanding of financial processes, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
* Knowledge of lease and fixed asset accounting
* Experience with VAT accounting and reporting
* Familiarity with intercompany reconciliations and month-end processes
* Previous exposure to SOX controls and compliance is desirable
* Proficiency in financial systems such as Aurora, Tagetik, and HFM
Qualifications:
* A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one
* Previous experience in a financial accounting role
