This substantive post is available up to, with job sharing considered. The post is primarily focussed upon undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education, with the potential to contribute to educational research. We are seeking an outstanding individual to contribute to teaching, specifically in the field of Urgent Dental Care and Oral Surgery, but also expected to provide contribution to patient assessment clinics. The role requires active and enthusiastic commitment to teaching and the delivery of high-quality student-led patient care. Excellent inter-personal skills to foster collaborative approaches with existing teaching and research programmes in the Bristol Dental School and Faculty are highly desirable.

Essential
1. Knowledge and skills to assess and provide clinical care to patients within the scope of primary care dentistry including routine and surgical dental extractions, extirpation/ restoration of teeth.
2. A working knowledge of clinical governance and to participate in audit and quality improvement projects.
3. Ability to prioritise, organise time appropriately and work independently.
4. Ability to work under pressure and cope with setbacks.
5. Able to maintain contemporaneous, clear and legible clinical notes and communication.
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Broad range of IT skills.
8. Abilities to provide pastoral support to students and trainees, including signposting to specialist services where appropriate.
9. Capable of involvement in day-to-day clinical management.
10. Knowledge of when to refer patients to a Specialist/ Consultant or other team.
11. Evidence of fitness to practise, including continual professional development and commitment to lifelong learning and potential career development.
12. Awareness of safeguarding.
13. Capacity and motivation to take responsibility for own actions and to learn from experience.

33. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience
34. Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
35. UK Foundation or Vocational Training (or equivalent)
36. Membership of appropriate Defence Society
Desirable
37. Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (, MFDS/MJDF or equivalent)
38. Other relevant postgraduate qualifications (, Postgraduate Certificate/ Diploma in Dental Sedation or Oral Surgery)
