Role Purpose
To provide effective plant and equipment start-ups ready for the following days production. To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Follow Up Tasks arising from the days production. Make best use of time outside of Production carry out engineering works to equipment/area not accessible/available during the day

Role Requirements
* To carry out effective Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on machinery, plant and equipment following clear instructions.
* To carry out General Work Requests (GWR), maintenance and rectification works following audits, inspections and production requests.
* To rebuild and make ready all production machinery and equipment, pre-production, ensuring that once rebuilt the equipment is in a ready-to-run state and clear of faults that would delay production.
o To react to and rectify Water Treatment Plant alarm events to ensure the plant remains operational to meet its daily discharge limit.
o Work to make continuous improvements and recommendations to reduce repeat common point failures and improve site efficiencies.
o Keep workshops, plant rooms and engineering storage areas clean and tidy to a standard that exceeds the requirements of internal and external audits.
o Keep workshop tools and equipment serviceable, clean and ready for use to meet the requirements for tool control.
* Ensure that all works carried out are recorded correctly, at the time of event and that all spares used are booked out against their respective work orders.
* Work closely with other department leads to ensure that any issues impacting them are quickly and effectively resolved to minimise down time.
* To keep the team, including engineering management updated with day-to-day issues, both resolved and unresolved with regards to equipment, machinery, or site services. Provide an effective handover to following shifts.
* To provide reactive maintenance cover to production, using analytical fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical disciplines to reduce production down time. To demonstrate and drive a ‘fixed first time’ approach to all repairs undertaken and to use Root Cause Analysis to prevent re-occurrences.
* Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action

* · NVQ 3 or equivalent electrical/mechanical or time served.
* · BS 7671 18th Edition (17th working towards 18th considered).
* · Ability to read and understand machinery manuals and drawings/schematics.

* · Be a good communicator at all levels.
* · Have good IT skills (Microsoft Office).
* · Previous experience of working in a similar role. (Desirable)
* · Previous experience of working in a similar role within the food industry. (Desirable)

Hours of Work
Hours are Monday to Thursday 17:00 - 03:30
