An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team here at Mount Road Vets!
Duties will include:
1. Undertake all general nursing duties within the practice and Nurse appointments.
2. Participate with the admission and discharge process of patients, the accuracy of which is of vital importance.
3. Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the premises and patient areas and particularly the clinical areas with regular cleaning/routine care of all equipment to include the correct methods of sterilisation and reporting any faults or damage.
4. Administer treatment (e.g., injections, medications, fluid therapy, and dressings) and dispense medication as instructed by the veterinary surgeon all in accordance with professional guidelines and practice policies.
5. Ensure you keep accurate records with regards to medical records, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms, etc.
6. Maintain accurate client and patient records.
7. Ensure effective stock rotation/replenishment where applicable.
8. To demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
9. Understand and implement practice and group policies.
10. Take an active role in the training programme of veterinary nurses and animal care/kennel assistants.

Full time position (40 hours a week) over either 4 or 5 days, this is flexible and we can accommodate part-time hours to suit. Flexible shift patterns between 9:30am and 6:30pm, a share of the Saturday rota which is 1:4 (full day). No out of hours.

With a huge and loyal client base, you will have a fantastic case load with a varied mix of consults and surgery. We are in the fortunate position of being able to offer fully flexible rotas including full time, part time, flexitime, and a bespoke rota to fit around childcare and school holidays, etc. We have good facilities including a digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house lab.
We are a small animal practice located very centrally in Manchester. We’re based in a terraced building with a very homely feel, within a lively city.
We’re fortunate to have very loyal clients, including some that have been coming here for over 40 years, and we work hard to deliver a service that's the best it can be, and that’s affordable for our clients. We are a big part of the community and are very proud of our reputation. Career progression is a big priority for us.
