Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a successful oil service company to source a Finance Manager on a full time, staff basis. Our client is a marine vessel company which services both the oil and gas and renewables sector. This role will be based in Aberdeen City Centre with hybrid and flexible working. This role covers both Management Reporting and Financial Reporting as well as providing leadership to the existing Finance Team. To be considered, you will be an experienced Accountant with excellent people management skills and a proven track record of building financial processes and procedures in an SME. The Opportunity Responsible for preparation and completion of monthly consolidated management accounts yearly branch accounts Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting records, and financial systems Responsible for implementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of financial controls Preparing the group year-end financial statements, associated disclosures and supporting the preparation of statutory accounts Responsible for group monthly VAT returns liaising with advisors on quarterly branch returns including review / rectification of import duties Support the VAT / Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisors Responsible for external audit including tracking and distribution of requests and providing information where appropriate Control of intercompany transactions / Capex (coding and tracking) Support OPEX reviews and business partnering Develop Project Financial Reporting for major projects Oversee the Customer invoicing and collection process Oversee the AP process Preparation month-end journal entries Monitor daily cash position and preparation of Cash-flow forecasts Accurately perform daily cash functions, including A/P and A/R tracking, payroll transactions, expense management and various reconciliations Manage and develop team, including setting performance targets Assist CFO for Budget review and preparation and reforecasting as required Background and Experience Proven track record in building financial processes and procedures in a growing company Proven track record of leading a Finance Team in a growing company Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or can demonstrate QBE to similar level Independent with ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders Ability to evaluate solutions in terms of business, financial and client impacts Advanced Excel user (xlookup, Pivot Power Query ideal) Advanced knowledge in Accounting Software - specifically XERO or similar Committed to continuous improvement Flexibility and Benefits Flexible working Hybrid working Competitive salary Career progression Next Steps If you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you To apply please send a full CV.
