Community Engagement Officer - Cancer Champions
We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Community Engagement Officer whose role will support the expansion of the organisation's Cancer Champion programme. This will be done through the engagement of key partners in the community in order to be more sustainable and increase opportunities to recruit cancer champion volunteers in the Parr and Town Centre areas.
Main duties of the job
The role will also support the Cancer Champions Programme Lead and Volunteer Coordinator to engage with local residents and partners and fully understand the Parr and Town Centre communities in accessing cancer support healthcare services and develop an education and awareness programme.

* Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience
* Professional qualification would be an advantage that is related to Interview public health

* Comprehensive knowledge of issues related to volunteering
* Ability to communicate at all levels both in written form and verbally
* Effective management skills
* Knowledge of policy relating to volunteer legislation
* Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
* Ability to work collaboratively and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
* Highly organised, able to effectively time manage and prioritise tasks whilst remaining flexible and adaptable to support evolving needs
* High-level of personal integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information; ability to work with high levels of tact and discretion
