The role
will be part of the Portfolio Office
What You`ll Be Doing
1. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, including the creation and maintenance of project plans, managing resources, working with third parties and strategic partners.
2. Manage a portfolio of projects including reporting, deliverables, and benefits tracking. Provide best practice and advice on project management frameworks and standards for PMO and wider business.
3. Ensure budgets are managed by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
4. Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
5. Manage stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment to deliver the project.
6. Work with the business to understand the requirements and scope of the project.
7. Manage 3rd party suppliers to deliver to time, cost and quality.
8. Liaise and communicate effectively with IT teams and members of the business at all levels.
9. Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time.
10. Maintain a good working knowledge of other areas of the business, and activities of our competitors; keep up to date with trends and developments within own professional area.
11. Share best practice, and be principled in pursuit of the delivery of a world class student and employee experience.
12. Be efficient - think about the value being generated as if you`re spending your own money.
13. Achieve any targets and KPIs as agreed with line manager.
14. Any other duties as required by line manager.
What We`re Looking for in You
1. Great interpersonal skills to work well with your key business partners.
2. Proven track record for planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
3. Experienced in both agile and waterfall methodologies.
4. Experience of working within a PMO environment.
5. Oracle and Salesforce experience is desirable.
6. Proven experience of Business Change Techniques.
7. Experience in delivering projects with solutions involving both bespoke and package solutions.
8. Able to translate IT speak into clear language that non IT colleagues can understand.
9. PMP/ Prince 2 certification.
10. Basic understanding of data protection legislation and experience of developing and maintaining a team environment where personal data is kept protected, confidential and secure.
