The purpose of a consumer paralegal at easyJet is to provide legal support to the management and coordination of consumer legal challenges that arise as a result of operational disruption.
As a paralegal in this role, you will be responsible for providing legal support to the management and coordination of consumer legal challenges from customers in the UK. Your primary focus will be on handling claims related to operational disruption, specifically delays and cancellations.
What you'll be doing
The paralegal in this role supports easyJet by managing and processing legal challenges from consumers due to operational disruptions. Their responsibilities include:
1. Evaluating consumer claims for delays and cancellations to determine legal action.
2. Updating easyJet's databases and disseminating key data.
3. Managing litigated claims from start to settlement.
4. Collaborating with internal and external legal representatives.
5. Accessing aviation systems for relevant information.
6. Advising on EU 261 legislation and consumer law inquiries.
7. Ensuring timely claim payments and maintaining databases.
8. Attending business disruption team meetings to provide advice during mass and predicted disruption events.
What you'll bring to the team
The ideal candidate for this position should have a legal background, either having completed the LPC or currently undertaking CILEx courses or be a career paralegal interested in civil litigation. They must be highly organised and self-motivated, capable of efficiently handling large workloads. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively are crucial. Numeracy and comfort working with data are also important, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Fluency in additional European languages would be highly regarded.

This role will be hybrid working of which 3 days will be based in Luton.
