Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Broadgreen theatre team as band 7 Unit Co- Ordinator. Unit E currently supports Orthopaedics, Breast Surgery, General surgery and Pain theatres. We are looking for an enthusiatic, highly motivated individual with extensive theatre experience currently working at band 6 or above. The post is to provide leadership, direction and support to the unit team members in order to deliver safe and efficient service to our patients. Training and support will be given to the successful candidate from the Surgical Division leadership team. Main duties of the job Co-ordination of the ward on a day-to-day basis including planning, allocation and evaluation of the new work streams carried out by teams.Provide specialist knowledge to all theatre staff within the Team.To promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of nursing careensuring that the unit environment is responsive to current issues.Ensure that all existing procedures and protocols relating to the care ofpatients are reviewed and updated as required.Develop methods for identifying, maintaining and improving the quality of patient care through facilitation of best practice and clinical benchmarking. Exercise strong and effective leadership, acting as an exemplary role modelfor the Unit team.Maintain adequate staff cover and skill mix on the unit through effective use of staffing rotas.Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training and maintain currentrecords.Ensure effective communication with patients and their carers.
