Job Description
The Job Mission
As a Pipe Stress Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of nuclear piping and industrial systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to perform analysis and deliver engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform pipe stress analysis for nuclear and industrial piping per B31.1 and B31.3.
2. Model piping systems using stress software to assess flexibility, stability, and nozzle loads.
3. Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, stakeholders, and clients.
4. Proactively gather information to meet project deadlines.
5. Balance workload across multiple projects while prioritizing safety.
6. Conduct clear calculations with schematics, references, and assumptions.
7. Apply knowledge of pipe materials, valves, relief valves, and control valves.
8. Coordinate with engineering disciplines and vendors to ensure compliance.
9. Manage technical queries and review submittal documents.
My Profile
1. Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience writing detailed pipe stress reports.
3. Working knowledge of Caesar II or preferably, PIPESTRESS software.
4. Ability to read and interpret flow diagrams and P&IDs.
5. Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, and ASME Section VIII.
6. Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, Navisworks, Plant 3D, MathCAD.
7. Nuclear plant design experience is advantageous but not essential.
