Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapists to join our Neuro rotation in Buckshealthcare NHS Trust. Rotations are 9 months long and cover a wide range of areas across different sites within the Trust. The rotations are:
* Hyperacute Stroke Unit - Wycombe Hospital
* Acute Stroke Rehab Unit - Wycombe Hospital
* Neuro-response (Outliers and Multidisciplinary Day Assessment Unit) – Wycombe Hospital
* Bucks Neuro Rehab Unit – Amersham Hospital
* Drake Therapy Service (Parkinson’s and complex falls patients) – Amersham Hospital
* MFOP and Neuro Outliers - Stoke Mandeville Hospital
This role will suit someone who is motivated, flexible and hard-working, and keen to support patients to achieve their potential in rehabilitation. In all rotations the role is part of a well-established and supportive therapy team. There is a strong emphasis on staff development with support from Band 7 team leads on each rotation, with additional support from the Band 8a Clinical Specialists.
The post involves weekend working as part of the therapy weekend service.
Main duties of the job
* To participate within the neurology, rehabilitation and or interdisciplinary team and contribute to its function.
* To undertake assessments of patients with complex and diverse presentation
* To undertake advanced, comprehensive, and where applicable, standardised assessments within neurology/rehabilitation.
* To use clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence based practice to determine treatment plan using a wide range of treatment skills and options.
* To analyse and interpret clinical and non-clinical information to form an accurate diagnosis in a wide range of conditions, with guidance from specialist Physiotherapists.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Current registration with Health Professions Council
* Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
* MCSP Membership
* Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality
* Membership of professional special interest group
* Field work/clinical educators course
EXPERIENCE
* Experience of at least 18 months in a junior rotational Physiotherapy post
* Previous experience in core physiotherapy specialties including acute in patient care, respiratory, Musculoskeletal and neurology
* Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning
* Experience of managing own caseload and prioritizing
* Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to decision making
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
* Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning
* Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio
* Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute NHS Hospital
* Knowledge of areas of influence of psychosocial and cultural factors on health/illness behaviours
