DBS was established under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 on 1 December 2012, operating from two sites, Liverpool and Darlington. We operate on behalf of government delivering Disclosure functions in England, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and Barring functions for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We operate in the complex world of safeguarding alongside our multi agency partners. Safeguarding means protecting people�s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
We provide a service that enables organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make better informed, safer recruitment and other decisions. We do this by providing information to enable them to determine whether individuals are unsuitable or unable to undertake certain work, particularly with occupations involving regular contact with vulnerable groups, including children.�

Job description
The Police Liaison Team works as a support team within the Police Performance & Standards Area. This area is responsible for managing key supplier account relationships with the 52 police forces (Disclosure Units - DUs) and law enforcement agencies that work with DBS to produce our Enhanced Disclosure Check product.
Reporting to the Police Liaison Team Leader (PLT) (EO), the Police Liaison Team AOs are responsible for:
1. First point of contact with forces (DU staff) via email or telephone.
2. Monitor PLT central inbox, actioning emails to the appropriate
3. Provide general IT support (supplying password re-sets, logging account creation requests etc) exclusively for staff working within the Disclosure Units via the ITNow Portal.
4. Liaising and building rapport with DU via email and phone.
5. Attend meetings when required bi-monthly team meeting, in person or via Teams
6. Undertake travel bookings (ad hoc) using the Home Office travel portal ensuring accuracy and value for money.
7. Follow PLT team procedures, updating them when necessary/required.
8. Ensure all force/team documents are stored securely with correct security markings and handling instructions using appropriate folder structures.
9. Flexibility in covering business hours.
10. Supporting with the implementation of any new work streams.
11. Distribute daily MIS reports to DU�s
12. Role can be performed either from home or in the office, however there may be occasions and / or business need for staff to attend the office.

Essential Criteria
13. Ability to work within tight timescales
14. Good verbal and written communication skills
15. Ability to work within a Team or independently
16. Experience of liaising with colleagues
17. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable Criteria
18. Experience of drafting correspondence to internal and external colleagues
19. Working knowledge of DBS products and processes
20. Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
21. Working knowledge of MS SharePoint
