Overview:
To supervise the Goods In QA Team to ensure materials delivered to the site meet the agreed specification standard.
To develop expertise in materials used by the site and ensure training and development of reporting personnel.
To ensure daily goods intake materials assessments are consistently completed against pre-determined criteria and schedule and are reported on in an accurate and timely manner.
To report and resolve any raw materials issues with the supply base driving continuous improvement.
To ensure a smooth introduction of new materials to the site.
Responsibilities
Supervising Goods In QA Activities to ensure food safety, quality, integrity and specification compliance is adhered to.
Develop expertise on raw materials used by the site and ensures training and development of reporting personnel.
Completing sample analysis for new products and launches and ensuring an understanding of key criteria is gained prior to use in the factory.
Ensuring Acceptable Quality Limits (AQLs) are completed against a risk assessed schedule.
Ensuring materials meet agreed specification prior to release to production including receipt of COA`s.
Supports factory technical and operational teams in resolving out of specification materials during processing.
Authorisation of any required rejections, concessions or life extensions on materials.
Completing Defective Material Reports (DMRs) for all out of specification materials.
Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary where they are affected by quality issues.
Lead for raw material intake during visits / audits.
Organising Raw Material Micro sampling against a risk assessed schedule and reporting on out of specification results.
To support peers through peak periods and holidays.
Essential
Food Industry experience preferably at supervisory level.
Familiar with material specifications and goods intake activities.
Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety.
Strong leadership qualities with effective methods of communication.
Excellent attention to detail.
Positive and enthusiastic.
Proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
Be able to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and work without direct supervision.
Sets standard for self and others in delivery of technical information to the relevant audience.
Computer literate.
